Spotify is very often used to play music at parties, everyone have it installed and there is always someone there with a premium account, at least wherever I am.
The problem with Spotify on a party is the same as it have always been, there are a lot of people there with different taste of music, so you never get to hear a whole song, and the same traces plays over and over again without letting everyone hear the music they want.
Therefore I wish a “party mode” function that is able to fix all these problems, maybe can this even be a new premium function but I would love. And here is a short list of some features I miss in a party situation.
- Only able to put tracks in queue, not play tracks immediately.
- The account owner can specify how many different songs before the same song can be played again.
- Only the account owner can overwrite “Party mode”
- Limitation of how many tracks that can be added PR minute. (Might be an option to the account holder.)
- Access to the party playlist via mobile devices on the WIFI
I know this is a long shot, but hopefully this will be a function in the future

That whould be awsome!! =D
Just go and start working, this is a need!
Awsome idea!
Thanks for the share!

There’s an app called “TuneTug” that will do all of the above. TuneTug recently integrated Spotify into the app which allows for searching of songs you don’t have in your iTunes collection. It gives everyone with a smart phone the ability to vote on songs (both up and down), add songs to the list (without interupting what’s playing) and you can limit the number of votes users get. It’s a fantastic application and it’s free!
It can be used via a web based control panel for Android and Blackberry users (or anyone who uses a browser on their phone) and iPhone has an application available.
Check out the app at http://tunetug.com
Hope this helps!
